Cosy, tranquil and unique, Country Gate in Victoria’s beautiful Central Highlands is nestled on the edge of the Wombat State Forest.

We offer free pick up and drop off service from our closest trail head, Mollongghip (only 2km away) and can arrange meals and trail snacks for walkers. In house massages are available by appointment.

Only one hour from Melbourne and a short drive to Daylesford, Creswick and Sovereign Hill, it is a perfect retreat for couples, groups and families, sleeping from 1 to 12 over three unique properties each with their own private bathroom. One night stays for walkers available.

Country Gate Cottage has 3 bedrooms,2 bathrooms and with all the amenities of your own home, you can comfortably base yourself here for a longer stay in the Goldfields or Spa Country or just relax into a two or three night weekend. Children can safely play in the grounds, or ride their bikes in the “no through” country lane.

Country Gate Studio, the former corrugated iron barn, has been lovingly restored using recycled timbers and diverse building materials. An enchanting space for two or sleeping up to four people comfortably.

Country Gate Forge, the former workshop and blacksmith is a cosy retreat, restored using the existing work bench and materials used over the last 100 years. Maximum guests two.
